 TO BE CONSIDERED AN 
 ACTIVE MEMBER: 
  • Pay dues
 
  • Attend at least 4 MSSA meetings/programs/events for the academic school year (includes community service and football games)
  • Must obtain a total of 15 points per semester
 AT OUR END-OF-YEAR BANQUET, MEMBERS WITH THE MOST POINTS 
 WILL HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY TO WIN REWARDS (OR SCHOLARSHIPS) 
 POINT SYSTEM 
  • Dues: 3 pts

  • GBM/Programs: 2 pts

  • Invite a friend: 1 pt

  • Invite a professional: 3 pts

  • Community Service/Volunteering: 4 pts per hour

  • Shadowing: 4 pts per event (typically are 1 hour)

  • Concessions: 3 pts per game; 2 additional pts for every consecutive game

  • Drives: 1 volunteer hour for every 3 regular-sized items or 6 small/travel-sized items donated; 3 hours max.

POINT SYSTEM & DUES

Membership for the Minority Student Science Association is open to all students at the University of Georgia. MSSA welcomes any interested student from any background and major. While it is not mandatory to pay membership dues to participate in MSSA activities, we strongly encourage you to consider being a part of our organization as a paid and active member. Membership dues are $15 for the 2022-2023 academic school year.
