Who Are we

 who we are

The Minority Student Science Association (M.S.S.A.) is the University of Georgia's student-run organization for minority students pursuing undergraduate degrees in the sciences. MSSA is dedicated to ensuring that the needs of minority science students are met. MSSA is founded upon the great principles of educating and preparing our members to be leaders for tomorrow. It serves as a network concerning all aspects of the preparation for various types of professional schools like medical school, dental school, pharmacy school, or graduate programs for minorities within science-related disciplines.

 A WORD FROM OUR FOUNDERS

Greetings! On behalf of the entire executive board, I would like to welcome you to the website of the Minority Student Science Association. Our hope is that this organization will serve as a beacon of light for those embarking on the journey towards a career in the sciences. Though trying and arduous at times, I am confident that if we work together and support each other, it is a journey which we all can and will complete. We look forward to meeting each and every one of you and wish you the best of luck here at UGA.

Be Blessed,

Coming in as a freshman almost four years ago, meeting many student mentors helped me transition within the university. The Minority Student Science Association is full of student mentors that want to help each other prepare to enter professional schools in the future. I want MSSA to help minorities in the sciences on an academic and even personal level. We will do our best to provide as many resources as we can to our members. I would like members to provide executive board members with suggestions on how we can improve our organization. Together I believe we can come together to create a strong pool of competitive professional school applicant.

Best Wishes,
